Once you identify and separate the unhelpful thoughts, from the helpful thoughts, you can then look at the situation in a different way.

Our mind is the most powerful tool we have. The most important thing to realise is that when we are in CAUSE, and not EFFECT, we are in control, and are responsible for our reactions. Meaning, we are the CAUSE of our own happiness, not being in EFFECT of what happens around us.

When we start to reconceptualise the problem by seeing it from a different perspective, for example, changing a toxic thought, to a new healthy thought you want to build on.
Change requires action, and application is essential to growth.

When a toxic thought, or you play a negative thought in your mind:

1. Hear the breaks screech.
2. Say to yourself, “that’s not what I want”.
3. Ask “What do I want?”.
4. Ask yourself “How do I get it?”.
5. Write the answer down to number 4.

This is reconceptualising the initial toxic thought into a positive thought. Every thought has an emotion attached to it, and by recognising the thoughts, and deliberately changing the negative thought, to a new positive thought, the feelings attached to the new healthy thought will grow.

This takes practice, over time, approximately 60 days, doing this daily, will create new healthy habits. Remember, IF NOTHING CHANGES, NOTHING CHANGES.

Our brains do not know the difference between imagining something or reality, so when we imagine a stressful situation, our physical symptoms will replicate that, the sympathetic nervous system will kick in, into fight or flight. Heart will race, blood pressure will increase, and we will feel panicked and stressed.
The same will happen if we imagine a beautiful peaceful place, either a place we love to go to, to relax, or visualising a place that would be peaceful, our physical systems will be that of rest and rejuvenation, our parasympathetic nervous system will be activated, the heart rate will slow down, blood pressure will decrease. We really can control our health.

90% of disease and illness are caused by stress on the body. Dis – Ease in the body causes disease. Our secretion of the stress hormone, Cortisol, a steroid hormone, that is produced by your adrenal glands, which sit on the top of each kidney. When we are stressed, increased cortisol is released into the bloodstream, having the right balanced amount is essential for our health, it regulates vital processes throughout the body, our metabolism, and our immune response.
Too much cortisol will increase sugar in the bloodstream, causing weight gain, intestinal problems, fatigue, anxiety and depression, high blood pressure, low libido, headaches and irritability.

Relaxation techniques such as breath work can help, with taking us from a stressed state to a clam, relaxed state.
The science of breath: As soon as you take a big deep belly breath in, your brain says I AM SAFE, your brain then tells your heart rate and blood pressure to lower.

When we think positive thoughts, we release feel good hormones, such as, Endorphins – (the pain killer), Dopamine – (the rewarding chemical), Serotonin – (the mood stabiliser) and Oxytocin – (the love hormone).

3. Lower rates of distress and pain.
4. Boost immunity.
5. Better physical and psychological well-being.
6. Better cardio vascular health, reduced risk of heart attacks and stroke.

We can really control our health, by positive healthy thoughts.
